The "New" Internet

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/15/weekinreview/15markoff.html
Looks like Stanford (and others) think it's time to start over, move to another planet so to speak.
I think it's an excellent idea, but maybe it's not. So much important data could potentially be lost. This reminds me of the movie "Wall-E", we're all just ditching our planet to let it clean itself. Those who are actually TRYING to clean up our current internet, and will no-doubt be assigned to the "old" internet when the new one comes along, can't do it alone. There aren't enough cypercops in the world to clean the place up! The idea of a "gated" internet is ridiculous, there is no doubt in my mind that people can't figure out ways to fake their identity, we can do it in real life, can't we? I don't think we'll ever be able to make anything criminal-proof.

Maybe these fucking "geniuses" could take a learn from this Disney movie! We can't just ditch our current internet, we need to clean it up and advance!

Addressing the problem of obesity, won't the "new" internet just make us MORE fat? This will mean that we could do EVERYTHING on our computers (assuming it's hacker-proof?) and EVERYTHING will be connected to the internet!

Maybe we need to de-evolve a little bit, hmm?
